MELISSA PETROVICH, NETWORK LEAD/CO-FOUNDER
Melissa was born in the Chicagoland region and continues to reside there today. Melissa is a musician at heart and has been involved in multiple music endeavors including singing and playing the piano, guitar, percussion, and some violin. She is a classically trained mezzo soprano and has taught herself many instruments through the years. While growing up, she initially believed she wanted to be a music teacher, but when it came down to attending a college for teaching and vocal performance, she determined music is her passion and that she did not wish to pursue it professionally. Today, she is lucky enough to continue her love of music by being a worship leader at her church.
After many years working in the medical field, she decided it is time to pursue her true passion: criminal psychology. Melissa is currently a senior at Liberty University, finishing her bachelor’s in Criminal Justice with an emphasis in Criminal Psychology. Once she has completed her undergraduate, Melissa is hoping to pursue a graduate degree in Criminology.
Melissa initially began her podcasting journey with her first show Mysteriously Morbid. Realizing true crime was her passion, she started Victimology to discuss her desire to seek justice and the truth. She also takes time to discuss what she is learning in her courses during the show and has been lucky enough to of had many names in the true crime genre appear. But her love is truly for the victims and advocates – and herein lies her true motivation. If there is anything in Melissa’s power to help those in need, she goes for it.
In addition to music and podcasting, Melissa loves spending time at home with her husband and fur children. She loves the White Sox so much, at her wedding, Melissa and her husband were announced in to Thunderstruck. She can quote the Office with no hesitation and is really good at going off on tangents. Don’t ever ask if she wants Chinese food…the answer will always be yes. When the opportunity came to start a network with Ariel and Melanie, there was no hesitation. We believe we can make a difference in the world of podcasting with The Oracl3 Network, so ready or not, here we come!
